Algerian International Madjid Bougherra today signed a three-year deal with Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.
Bougherra who is 23years-old signed for the South Yorkshire club this afternoon and this after Dario confirmed that the club had made a very good offer to the central defender to be a part of team pushing for a return to the Championship.
Bougherra made 11 appearances and scored once in a successful loan spell at Crewe. The loan signing was a first for Crewe in that they paid £5k to an agent after the player was recommended to the coaching staff. Madjid impressed in a behind the doors match in January and a couple of days later signed on loan until the end of the season.
Quite remarkably the player could not get into the first team at FC Gueugnon who played in the French Second Division. Although he still managed to play for his native country Algeria as they tried to qualify for Germany 2006.
