Baker like many fans was furious at the referee for not sending off Wigans Tony Dinning who lunged it two footed from behing and nearly broke Steve Jones' leg. Jones revealed yesterday he has just bruised it badly and will be out for up to 7 weeks.
"We've had this referee before and he's cost us games before. At Wolves, Sheff Utd and again here. So without being too harsh on the fella we don't think he's a good referee and I think there'll be allot of people here tonight(Tuesday) who'll echo the same sentiments."
Neil Baker, the assistant, was then asked what he thought on the referee for ignoring Tony Dinning. Also revealed that the referee spoke to Kenny Lunt and made some disgraceful comments... which followed by only showing yellow!!!
Bakes Blasts The Ref
"He saw it. He Saw it. It was a challenge from behind that might have broke Steve Jones' leg. The referee, in his wisdom, told Kenny Lunt he's a qualified physio and he suffered more than just trapped a nerve at the back of his calf. So a disgraceful decision, a disgraceful comment and he should have walked. If not, he should have walked when he kicked the ball away! But the referee, in his wisdom, chose the ignore that again."
Then he just blasted all referees for being so inconsistent.
Then he just blasted all referees for being so inconsistent.
"I think too many of the so called 'top referees' want to be involved in the game and the talk is about the officials rather than the players, no one will go away from the game talking about the players. I think they enjoy all the attention they get and this fella's no different. The people who choose these referees should look at it because they're making poor decisions."
