This is not the first time this season that Maynard has been linked with Championship side West Bromwich Albion.
Local press in January linked Tony Mowbray with a potential move for the Winsford born striker but nothing came of it, this time the Daily Star reckon that £1m is the figure that would secure a move.
Since making his debut in the 4-2 win over Millwall (last game in the Championship) back in 2006, Maynard has netted 27 times in 54 games and has caught the eye of a few scouts with his goal scoring displays.
21-year-old Maynard has hit some form in recent weeks netting 7 goals from nine games as the Railwaymen look to move away from the relegation zone. He would of scored many more if it was not for a freak injury on the opening day of the season against Brighton & Hove Albion, which kept him out for nearly four months as he recovered from broken leg.
The Railwaymen have found goals hard to come by with them only netting 39 in the league all season and with Maynard back in goal scoring form Steve Holland may have a job to hold on to Maynard come the summer with Gareth Southgate's Middlesbrough also watching things closely.
