Atkinson pens two-year deal.

22-year-old Atkinson was released by Hudderfield Town last month after coming through the youth ranks with the Terriers and making 10 apperances for the Yorkshire club.

Atkinson signed professional forms in 2010-11 and made his debut in the 6-0 FA Cup win over Macclesfield Town and made his league debut in the 1-1 draw over Dagenham in February 2011.

The following season he was sent out on loan for 6 months at Darlington making 15 appearances. The following season he was loaned out again this time to Chesterfield where he made 15 appearances for the Spireites netting 5 goals before being recalled to Huddersfield.

Prior to the start of the 2013-14 season Atkinson signed for a six month loan deal with Tranmere Rovers where he made 28 apperarances for the the Wirral based club where he returned to his parent club on 2 January 2014.

He was then loaned out to fellow Yorkshire club Bradford City where he made 4 apperances for the Bantams.
