Add Nicky Maynard who is a few weeks away from first team action and you can see that the club has a stiker crisis.
Crewe have already signed three strikers this season on loan with Lee Barnard signing a six month loan, Chris Dickson signed on a month from Charlton but disappointed during his spell and the Railwaymen signed Simon Church last Friday from Reading.
During the summer and the start of the season the club has been linked with a whole host of strikers from John Hartson, Anthony Elding, Frazier Campbell, Dean Crow, Craig Lidnfield and Ishmael Miller.
Dario told www.crewealex.net "We have put in a phone call about a striker and we have come to an agreement with the club. It is now down to the player. He needs to be informed and then we'll see. If we miss out on this one, we will go for another one.
"We are certainly not taking anything for granted and I won't believe it until it is all done and dusted and he is here. Hopefully, the player will agree and something will be finalised before the weekend.
He added: "Everyone has been working so hard to bring someone in and we are a lot closer now with this striker."
