The Irishman joined onloan from Bolton in August only not to play a single game for the Alex. Since he was called back to Bolton he has scored 2 for the Ireland U-21s in their match Vs Switzland.
Allardyce moved to snap at Crewe saying the loan was just a waste of time:
"If I'd known he wouldn't be selected, I wouldn't have sent him to Crewe. It was a waste of time.
"He has knuckled down well since he came back and goals at any international level are great for a player's confidence. But he is behind a few players with more experience here."
After over 10 set backs before getting another striker in onloan, Barrowman, maybe it's time we started loaning players to play........
