Dario and the team who had watched the game earlier in the day, before trouncing Sunderland 3-0, were inspired by the World Champions. Steve Jones was the hero when he added two to Dean Ashton's headed opener as 'Swing low sweet chariot' bellowed around the ground. Dario also admitting he envy's England manager Clive Woodward...
"It's been a wonderful day for us. Somebody said to me on Friday it could be a great day if England win the World Cup and Crewe beat Sunderland and I think you'd have got good money on both happening!
"I really feel for the coach Clive Woodward because he won't have a better thing in his life than what he's achieved.
"That will be the pinnacle of his achievement and it's a job really well done and I offer my congratulations to him and really envy him.
"But this is the result I'm most worried about and I was pleased for Steve Jones and Dean Ashton.
"I thought that was the best they've played together. They were looking for each other and finding each other well and I was pleased with their combination play because they both like to get their head down and get a goal."
