The deal was about to take Wright to Wigan for £300,000+ this week after the right-back agreed a contract with the club but Wrighty's agent seems intent on being a tyical selfish agent when he asks for a large wage from Wigan. Wigan didn't want to deal with the agent so called the deal off and Dario Gradi says it's down to David Wright to go a lone and resurrect the deal;
“We have agreed a deal with them, and David is prepared to go and the offer from Wigan is the only concrete offer we have had for him. The ball is now firmly in his court and it’s really up to him to do the work and try and sort the situation out.
"That is how we have left it with them and we’ll have to see what materialises in the next few days."
For now though it seems David Wright will be a Alex player for the immediate future, or we could see other teams , like Everton and Charlton, alerted to Wrighty's availability.
