Justin Cochrane faces atleast two weeks on the sidelines after pulling his hamstring in the 1-0 win at home to Wimbledon. Dario described Cochranes play as 'reckless' before confirming he pulled his hamstring.
Luke Varney today went for a operation on his shoulder. The 21 year old suffered a dislocated shoulder against Telford 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately it was on the same shoulder he has had trouble on for most of his career, it is thought Varney could be out for the rest of the season.
Returning to the training complex this week will be Adie Moses and Richard Walker. Walker has been out for just over a month whilst Adie Moses has managed just three sub appearances since the end of August. The free transfer signing from Huddersfield last made an appearence at West Brom, after Billy Jones went off with a head injury. Unfortunately Moses only provoked his hamstring injury and hasn't trained since.
It's hoped this week that atleast one of Walker or Moses will return to training to ease the injury worries that has gripped the club in its most successful season ever.
Speaking to CreweAlex.net, Dario explains: “We are in a super position in the league table and we are delighted with that. He key to that has been the defence. The back four have defended very well and we haven’t been making as many mistakes as we have previously.
“I’m hoping that Adie and Rich will train with us later this week, because we are a bit short of defenders and it would be nice to have a bit of cover there. Chris (McCready) broke down in training and we don’t know when he will back with us.”
