Crewe's game against Forest Green Rovers will be subject to the conditions that have hit that area of the country.
Press statement from FGRFC Press Officer.
As many will be aware both the matches scheduled at the New Lawn on Friday and Saturday were cancelled due to the severe weather conditions.
Whilst the pitch may well be fit for the match against Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday evening a decision will be made at 10am Tuesday to confirm if the match goes ahead.
Players have been instructed not to travel in to training this morning (Monday) due to the fact that Gloucester is now almost run dry and only bottled water is available. With several areas also being without electricity and other areas likely to go off without warning, accordingly the Club have taken the sensible decision not to add to the problems that the surrounding areas are experiencing at this time. We also decided that training at the ground was also impossible if the pitch was not to be ruined, especially as it has been raining again this morning and is likely to continue for a majority of the day.
The club were also assisting Stroud District Council over the next two days in a coaching senario but due to council staff being out all night and being involved in the emergencies taking place that has been cancelled.
Whilst many will have seen the footage on their television screens I can personally tell you that the situation is now at a critical level for those of us who actually live in Gloucester; and quite frankly at times like this, many associated with the club have more important things to worry about than a game of football.....sorry to Bill Shankly and his recorded views on our sport.
