Stephen Foster
Foz
Leads the defence and our whole defensive play is work around him, and he's only 23. Has recieved a tad of citisism this season for let players through the centre., yet that is unfounded as it's only happened at Stockport. He's put in some fine performances so far this season some of the best were at Man City, Wycombe and on Saturday against Barnsley. While he's used to defending through balls along the floor he entered a whole knew world of long ball being whollaped into the area but one is yet to go past him with his excellent heading ability, which allows him a few goals aswell, and his calm play.

David Wright
Younger Wright
Quite possibly our best player this season and yet has gone un noticed. Start of the season he was playing at left back which was something new to him but it didn't effect him. When swapped back to the right back role though he's been amazing. Not only, as Dario said, there is yet to be a player to get the better of Wright but his attacking play dazzels defenders. He gets more forward than Rodders does, honestly, and probably all our balls from the right are via Wright. He's been consistant with his excellent performances and after a dissapointing couple of seasons seeing him either injured or playing crap you can now see why Liverpool were once interested in him. Also, he is only 22 - his best is yet to come.
Cannot see anyone disagreeing in Wright being one of the best, if not the best, right back in Division Two.

Richdard "The Doorman" Walker
The doorman by name, the doorman by nature
While Sodje was in Japan/Korea with Nigeria probably believing his place in the team was safe there was Richard who was in Malta in front of Darios eyes trying to get a regular place in the team. It was probably his last chance to get in the Crewe team after years in the academy not getting anywhere. In Malta though the doorman was awesome. You could clearly see the commanding defender, who regularly argued with Bankole over nothing in paticular, was going to figure somewhere along the back line this season. He grabbed the number 3 shirt at the start of the season which meant he was going to play a key role - somewhere. When Dario reshuffled the defence after the 3-0 defeat at home to Notts County Rich got his chance and took it with both hands. His performances were top notch and helped the Alex notch up 8 clean sheets in 9 games. He was never faulted which earnt him the nickname "The Doorman" and "If your names not on the list, you don't come in" - oh how true. Until he was cruelly dropped for Walton due to Mark Cooper being an inadequate excuse of a referee in the Wigan match which saw him sent off for nothing. Only figured three times since he and Foz got a great partnership going and was one of the main reasons we climbed the table so quickly after our embarrassing start to the season.
I think them three deserve to be in the group of players that have proven themselves as far to good for this division. Each been outstandingly consistant and each would walk into nearly every team in this division.
