Clayton Ince - Justified first choice keeper

The opinion as to who should start the season as the clubs first choice keeper was well debated amongst fans, with many claiming the Dario should look to bring a new keeper in. However, after 10 league games and the Worthington Cup win at Port Vale with only 6 goals conceded, the decision to name Clayton Ince our first choice shot stopper seems well justified by Dario.

After conceding a late goal from a scramble at the end of the Norhampton away game on the opening day of the season and a disasterous result against Notts County which resulted in a 3-0 defeat, Clayton Ince has kept seven clean sheets. The abysmal result against Notts County has acounted for half of our total goals conceded, and with five clean sheets in a row prior to Shaun Devine's penalty at Adam's Parl last week, the Trinidad custodian has looked acomplished in his role as the clubs first choice keeper. Concedingjust over a goal every other game on average, with 0.54 goals per game conceded, the now fully established No.1 had gone 514 minutes wothout conceding a goal prior to the Wycombe game.

Saturday's visit to Ninian Park will keep Ince busy and a clean sheet at 5 p.m will show just how important a solid rearguard is if a team are to be successful...
