Cheltenham reaction...

Certainly one of our great performances of the season. We passed it around with ease and style. We kept Cheltenham from even getting a clear cut chance with them not even registering a shot in the second half. It was the satisfaction that 1 win would move us up the league after 6 long weeks in 5th place. With Oldham kicking off at 1pm the final score was in before kick off, Oldham 1-1 Blackpool. Also Luton beating good old Cardiff and Bristol City playing out a bore draw at home to Plymouth puts us just 2 poiints behind second place.

Today showed we certainly are a class above the rest. This maybe the confidence leaking into my brain but we aren't grinding points out of the ground like Bristol City or Cardiff and even Wigan but we are romping home - even without outplaying the other team. We have yet to be totally outclassed this season - even against Wigan with ten men they looked no better than QPR or Brentford.

We have yet to be taken seriously by anyone in this division but 9 wins and a draw in our last 10 games says it all - it's championship form. We have also found our scoring boots, we aren't meant to be scoring goal after goal game after game. We aren't meant to be the divisions 3rd top scorers, we aren't meant to have the 3rd best defence in the league - or maybe we are like we all predicte at the start, simply too good for the division, but we just needed a few games to get going. Dario says he wants to go the whole season without losing, that's certainly possible. There's noone who we fear in this division and all our loss' are heart breaking 'if onlys' with first Notts County - IF ONLY we had the right tactics. Cardiff - IF ONLY we defended for the 90 minutes. Wigan - IF ONLY someone shot Mark Cooper. Plymouth & Luton - IF ONLY we put away our chances. Bristol City(even if it was a draw) - IF ONLY we didn't sit back.

But 5 straight wins and 20 goals in those games since we last dropped points maybe we have learnt something. We aren't sitting back and giving our sympathy to other teams when we score, instead, we go in search of another and another and until we get 3 or 4 we won't give up. Win on Sunday and the league is for either us, Wigan, Cardiff or Bristol City. The latter three are looking rocky at the moment. Wigan have only scored 12 in 9 games, Bristol City have drawn 3 in 5 league games while Cardiff fans are saying game after game they aren't playing anywhere near their best. Wigan maybe boasting of a 7 point gap, 9 ahead of us, but this division is far from over and would it surprise me if the other 3 went on a few games without a win while we continue to pick up win after win? no.
