Barrow-the-man

Some were sceptical when Baker announced the 18 year old Scot as the striker to help end our troubles, but how he silenced those sceptics.

On Tuesday in the final four of five minutes Barrowman show little teasers of what he was capable of, with a little dummy round Bradfords Jason Gavin before running down the wing. Then there was just the effort, he put more effort into chasing down lost cause's in those 4 minutes than Walker did in clearing all night.

Yesterday we really got the see the kid in action as he made his full debut, not only in a red shirt but in league football. Neil Baker told Dario to stick him in the team, Dario had never seen him but Bakes had full backing of Barrowman.

During the gave he gave absolutely everything to the cause. He dazed the Derby defence with his tireless running. 10th minute saw him score a goal he created, nearly. He ran onto a Lunt though ball, the defender missed the ball leaving Barrowman to run three on goal. He tried to chip the keeper only for it to be palmed down to Ashton who hit a shot/cross for Barrowman to side foot home. It was 'a strikers finish'. Just no players congratulated him as he went off to celebrate.

He linked up with Ashton amazingly well to say they'd only trained for a week. Ashton got good flick ons to Barrowman whilst Barrowman returned the compliment by winning the ball for Dean.

You can't fault Barrowman's effort as he gave move than 100% today, if possible. You can't fault his finishing as he remained calm twice in the same attack. The only thing you could doubt him for was his tiredness towards the 70th minute when he was taken off, but he's only 18.

He's here for a month, lets hope he continues to show he's the striker we've been searching for and has proven it by the time it comes to renewing his loan contract next month.
