Saturday afternoon sees Crewe Alex take on Wigan Athletic in what should be a pulsating first versus second contest. Both sides are renowned for their attacking football, and it was a real shame that the FA decided to choose Mark Cooper to ref such a high profile game at the JJB back in November.
Thankfully Mr. Cooper isn't going to be near Gresty Road on Saturday, Eddie Wolstenholme is the man in charge, so lets hope he gives us a 'fair crack of the whip.'
Dario has a full frontline to choose from, with the free scoring quartet of Hulse, Ashton, Jones and Jack brimming with confidence. I don't think Dario can ignore Hulse and Jones, and Rodney Jack is an inspiration, so I feel that Ashton will have to make do with starting on the bench.
If Brammer isn't back for Saturday (reports say hes nearing full fitness, but nothings certain), then Neil Sorvel wil retain the captains armband, and is expected to be joined in central midfield by Lee Bell if the skipper isn't fit.
Paul Tierney played for the Republic of Ireland under-21's in the week, but David Vaughan (who was also in action for Wales in midweek) has impressed at left full back, so the youngster is expected to carry on.
Saturday could well be the pivotal game of our season, so Gresty Road will be near full, with Wigan selling out there whole allocation (I'm not sure if that includes the Railway End or not), and only a few tickets left for Crewe fans.
COME ON YOU REDMEN!!
